In our warm and friendly home we are able to accommodate two young people or three siblings.  The location of our home is semi-rural, detached and set in a large garden. This allows the children to have the freedom to play both outside and inside in our home. Physical activity is key to progress and we plan regular and daily activity into each child’s routine.

We provide individualised care for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have experienced early childhood trauma which have manifested in complex needs and attachment displaying behaviour and emotional difficulties.

At Hazeldean we specialise in caring for children who have experienced early developmental trauma, attachment difficulties and CSE. We are able to assess and deliver tailored care to young children who have complex needs which often produce challenging behaviours.

Our highly skilled staff team provide a nurturing and empathetic homely environment. Our staff team and management are passionate about the children we look after and ensure that every child feels safe, secure and is given a sense of belonging. Young people are encouraged to be stakeholders within the home.

To address the needs of children with attachment and unprocessed trauma we provide a tailored approach using the PACE parenting model. This environment is structured and planned to ensure that the child’s levels of anxiety is reduced.  As most of the children we care for struggle with relationships.  Most of their time is spent on a one to one basis with staff. 2:1 Care is available at the home depending on numbers within the home and the matching of needs.

Our transition work supports a pathways plan and for young people to learn the skills needed to cope with independent living: practically and emotionally. Learning how to stay safe and understand personal responsibility are core elements of transition of leaving care and living more independently.
